Superintendent John C. Hall was born in Cambridge, Ohio. Although neither of his parents were college educated, they instilled in him and his brother a work ethic, faith, and dedication to do their best.
Mr. Hall’s educational career started in Willard, Ohio, where he was a middle school teacher and a middle and high school coach. He was involved in the Willard Boys’ Basketball program that made state tournament appearances. Mr. Hall took over a struggling girls’ varsity program and led them to their first league championship in school history. While at Willard, John also won a teaching award, and met his wife, Susan, a native of Sandusky.
His administrative work began as high school principal at Leipsic and he had additional principal experience at Reynoldsburg (on the east side of Columbus) at a 950 student junior high school. From there he served as Superintendent at Patrick Henry (4 years) and most recently at Oregon City (near Toledo, Ohio) the past 6 school years.
Mr. Hall has received several state wide individual awards for his work in education and comments that those awards “recognize the accomplishments of many dedicated people in the buildings and districts he has served.”
John and his wife, Susan, have three school aged children who are enrolled in Barberton City Schools for the 2008-09 school year.
