Services Provided
- Consult with staff, parents, and students in order to meet student needs academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Consults, as needed or requested, with system/staff, parents, and community about issues and concerns.
- Intervention Assistance Team (IAT) assists in working with student, parents, teachers, and administration to form a plan of action to help student achieve success.
- Meet with team to discuss and brainstorm intervention.
- Administer screening tests to students with suspected learning difficulties
- Assit with Multifactored Evaluations (MFE)
- Help with the transition for IAT students from year to year during middle school
Classroom Guidance
- 6th grade (Helping Make the Transition to Middle School) (Character Education/Self-Esteem/Making Friends) (Bullying/Rumors/Organization and test taking skills)
- 7th grade (Alcohol/Drug Awareness)(Bullying/Respecting one another)
- 8th grade (Career/Bridges)(Helping Make the Transition to BHS)
Lunch Time Groups (call to find out more information about upcoming groups)
- Self Esteem
- Divorce
- ADD/ADHD Group
- Study Skills
- Getting along with others
Peer Mediation
- School Wide Conflict Resolution Program
- 20 students are trained annually along with the BHS peer mediators (Officer Cheatham) Starting in year 05/06

Individual Counseling—not therapy, but occasionally “as needed” working especially with conflict resolution and problem solving.
