Meetings are held quarterly at the Barberton City Schools Administration

BHSAA Scholarship – BHSAA has awarded 2 scholarships to two graduating
seniors each year since 1999.


“Wall of Fame” - BHSAA raised monies to help defray the cost of the
walking track located at the “New BHS”.    Over 1354 bricks were sold.   
A check for $30,000 was presented to Barberton City Schools at the Grand
Opening of the “New BHS” in September, 2000.


“Patron of the Arts” - BHSAA sold 270 Patron of the Arts plaques, raising
over $3,000.  The monies were donated to Barberton High School to go
towards the purchase of a Baby Grand Piano for the fine arts department.
 

BHSAA Pasta Dinner - BHSAA sponsors a pasta dinner before one of the boys
home basketball games.    Alumni members and Barberton City Schools
administrators and personnel help serve at this annual dinner open to the
public.

The Barberton City School District is soliciting nominations for consideration as members of the Barberton City School District Academic Hall of Fame. This program has been initiated to recognize and honor former Barberton School District graduates as having achieved a significant degree of success in their pursuits of higher education and/or in their professional careers. The Academic Hall of Fame recognition was established to provide outstanding role models for the students in the Barberton City School District.

To be considered for this honor, each individual must have a completed Application of Nomination containing the following criteria:

  • Must have graduated from Barberton High School.
  • Attended the Barberton City Schools for a minimum of four years.
  • Graduated from high school a minimum of twenty years before being nominated.
  • A maximum of three letters supporting the individual's nomination.
  • Application signed by the person making the nomination.
  • Resume demonstrating the work history and professional/academic successes of the nominee.
  • Nominations must be received by December 31 for consideration for the next year's induction class.

Applications for this honor can be made by self-nomination.

Resumes for individuals nominated and not selected for induction in a given year will remain on file and will be reviewed each year.

The nomination form can be found on the link below. Nominations are due by December 31. A committee appointed by the Director of Personnel and approved by the Board will select the first class of honorees in January, who will then be honored at a banquet in April. Plaques and photos of the honorees will be hung at BHS on the wall near the varsity gymnasium.
